swear by those who range themselves in ranks, and by those who

are strong in repelling (evil), and by those who recite Our Word,
that your God is One: the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all
that lies between them: the Lord of the Eastern (andWestern) Regions.
We have adorned the lower heaven with the ornament of the
planets, (thus providing) security against every rebellious devil. And
(thus the devils) cannot listen to the Exalted Assembly, but are pelted
from every side. Theirs is a perpetual torment; except him who
snatches away something and gets pursued by a shining flame.
Then ask them if they are a stronger creation than those whomWe
have created.We have created themof sticky clay.
You marvel, while they scoff. When they are admonished they pay
no heed. When they are shown a sign they mock at it and say: 'This is
plain magic. What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones,
shall we be raised to life, we and our forefathers?’
Say: 'Yes. And you shall be held to shame.'
It will be one cry and they shall see. They will say: 'Woe to us. This
is the Day of Judgement.' (The angels then will say): 'This is the Day of
Separation which you denied?' (And it will be said to the angels):
