not provide.
And there is not a thing but with Us are the storehouses of it; and We
do not send it down except in a known measure. We send the fertility
winds and send water from the sky fromwhichWe make you drink and
which you cannot store.
And surely it isWe who give life and death.We are the Inheritor.
We know those who have gone before, and those who will come.
Your Lordwill gather themall before Him. He isWise, Knowing.
We created man from dry clay, from black moulded loam, and before
him the jinn from smokeless fire. Your Lord said to the angels: 'I am
creating man from dry clay, from black moulded loam. When I have
fashioned him and breathed of My spirit into him, kneel down and
prostrate yourselves before him'.
All the angels prostrated themselves, except Satan who refused to be
one of those who prostrated themselves.
He said: 'Satan, why do you not prostrate yourself?'
He replied: 'I will not bow to a mortal created of dry clay, of black
moulded loam.'
(Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed. A curse shall be on you till
Judgement-day.'
He said: 'Lord, reprieveme till the Day of Resurrection.'
He answered: 'You are reprieved till theAppointedDay.'
(Satan) said: 'Since You have left me in error, I will seduce mankind
on earth: I will seduce themall, except those that faithfully serveYou.’
