through His grace; and how He delivered you from the abyss of Fire
when you were on the very brink of it. Thus Allah makes plain to you
His revelations, so that youmay be rightly guided.
Let there become of you a nation that shall call for righteousness,
enjoin justice, and forbid evil. Suchmen shall surely triumph.
Do not follow the example of those who became divided and
opposed to one another after clear proofs had been given them. These
shall be sternly punished on the day when some faces will be bright
(with joy) and others blackened (with grief). To the black-faced
sinners it will be said: 'Did you disbelieve after embracing the true
faith? Taste then our scourge, for you were unbelivers! As for those
whose faces will be bright, they shall abide forever inAllah's mercy.
Such are the revelations of Allah; We recite them to you in all truth.
Allah desires no injustice to His creatures. His is all that the heavens
and the earth contain. ToHim shall all things return.
You are the best nation that has ever been raised up for mankind. You
enjoin justice and forbid evil.You believe inAllah.
Had the People of the Book believed, it would have surely been
better for them. Some of them are true believers, and most of them are
evil-doers.
They will not harm you except a little. And if they fight against you,
they will turn their backs and run away. Then there shall be none to help
them. Ignominy shall attend themwherever they are found, unless they
make a covenant withAllah or with man. They have incurred the wrath
of Allah and have been utterly humbled: because they desbelieved His
