rak'as
following the Evening prayer.

Witr
prayer consisting from one to eleven
rak'as
and
performed after those following the Evening prayer.
It is the custom in mosque to have an interval between the calling
to prayer and the performance of it so that people who want to
perform the additional prayers can do so.
The additional prayers which are not performed before or after
regular prayers are as follows:
1. The Mosque prayer with which the mosque is greeted. It
consists of two
rak'as
and has to be performed upon entering the
mosque. Otherwise, it is not to be performed.
2. The Mid-morning prayer which consist of two
rak'as
at least
and performed in the period between mid-morning and noon.
3. The Feast prayers which are performed on each of the two
great Muslim feasts. They are performed during the period from
sunrise to noon. Each of these prayers consists of two
rak'as
.
Before reading al-Fatiha in the first
rak'a
the
takbira
is said
seven times; but it is said only five times in the second rak'a.
When the feast prayer is performed in congregation it is followed
by a sermon.
The feast prayer is no substitute for the Early Morning prayer.

Tarawih
prayers which are performed during the month of
fasting
(Ramadan)
and at night between the Evening prayer and
dawn. They range between four to ten prayers, each consisting of
