21:1
he Day of Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet the
T
people heedlessly turn away. No fresh warning comes to them
from their Lord, but they flippantly listen to it: their hearts are
set on pleasure.
In private the unbelievers say to each other: 'Is this man not a mortal
like you? Do you go towitchcraft evenwhile your eyes are open? ’
Say; 'My Lord has knowledge of whatever is said in heaven and on
earth. He hears all and knows all.’
Some say: 'It is but a medley of dreams.' Others: 'He has invented it
himself.'And yet others: 'He is a poet: let him show us some sign, as did
those (apostles) whowere sent before (with signs).’
Yet the nations whomWe destroyed before them never believed. Will
they believe?
We never sent before you other than men whomWe inspired. Ask the
People of the Book if you do not know this. Nor did We give them
bodies that are no food, nor were they immortal. ThenWe fulfilled Our
promise: We delivered them and those We willed, and utterly
destroyed the transgressors. (And now) We have revealed a Book for
your admonition.Will you not understand?
