Build an ark under Our watchful eyes, according to Our bidding. Do
not pleadwithMe for the wrongdoers: they shall all be drowned.'
And he built the ark.And whenever the elders of his people passed by
him, they jeered at him. He said: 'If you mock us, we shall mock you as
you mock us. You shall know who will get a punishment which
disgraces him, andwhowill be afflicted by an everlasting scourge.'
And when Our will was done and water welled out from the Oven,We
said to Nuh: 'Take into the Ark a pair from every species and your
family except those already doomed, and those who believe. And none
save a fewbelievedwith him.
Nuh said: 'Embark in it. In the name of Allah will be its sailing and
anchor. My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.'
And as the Ark moved on with them amidst the mountainous waves,
Nuh cried out to his son, who was apart: 'Embark with us, my child,' he
said. 'Do not staywith the unbelievers! '
He said: 'I shall seek refuge in a mountain, which will protect me
from the flood.'
He said: 'None shall be secure this day fromAllah's judgement, except
those to whom He will show mercy! ' And (thereupon) the billows
rolled between them, and he was drowned.
And it was said: 'Earth, swallow up your waters. Heaven, cease (your
rain)! ' The water was made to abate and all was over. And it came to
rest uponAl-Judiyy, and it was said: 'Gone are the evil-doers.'
Nuh called out to his Lord, saying: 'Lord, my son was my own flesh
and blood. Your promise was surely true. You are the most Just of
