them, though they long to do so.
And when they turn their eyes towards the people of the Fire, they
will cry: 'Lord, do not cast us among the wicked people!' Then they
shall say to men whose marks they recognize: 'Nothing have your
riches or your scornful pride availed you.Are these the men whom you
swore would never earnAllah's mercy?'
(And again turning to the blessed, they shall say): 'Dwell in Paradise.
You have-nothing to fear or to regret.'
The people of the Fire will cry out to the people of Paradise: 'Give us
some water, or some of that whichAllah has given you.' But the blessed
shall reply: 'Allah has forbidden both to the unbelievers, who made
their religion a pastime and an idle sport, and who were beguiled by
their earthly life.'
On this dayWe will forget themas they forgot themeeting of that day:
for they deniedOur revelations.
We have bestowed on them a Book which We have made plain with
knowledge, a guidance and a blessing to true believers. Are they
waiting but for its fulfillment? On the day when it is fulfilled, those that
have forgotten it will say: 'Our Lord's messengers have surely
preached the truth.Will no one plead on our behalf? Or could we but go
back to life, we would not do as we have done.' They shall forfeit their
souls, and that which they inventedwill fail them.
Your Lord isAllah, who in six days created the heavens and the earth
and then established Himself on the Throne. He throws the veil of night
over the day. Swiftly they followone another.
