Gracious andAll-knowing.
Such are the bounds set byAllah. He that obeysAllah and HisApostle
shall dwell forever in gardens watered by running streams. That is the
supreme triumph. But he that disobeys Allah and His Apostle and
transgresses His bounds, shall be cast into fire and shall abide in it
forever.Ashameful punishment awaits him.
If any of your women commit fornication, call in four witnesses from
among yourselves against them; if they testify to their guilt, confine
them to their houses till death overtakes them or tillAllah finds another
way for them.
If two (men) among you commit it punish them both. If they repent
and mend their ways, leave them alone. Allah is Forgiving and
Merciful.
Allah forgives those who commit evil in ignorance and then quickly
turn to Him in repentance. He will pardon them. Allah is Knowing,
Wise. But Allah will not forgive those who do evil and, when death
comes to them, say: 'Now we repent!' Nor will He forgive those who
die unbelievers. For theseWe have prepared a woeful scourge.
O believers, it is unlawful for you to inherit the women of your
deceased kinsmen against their will, or to bar them from re-marrying,
in order that you may force them to give up a part of what you have
given them, unless they be guilty of a proven crime. Treat them with
kindness; for even if you do dislike them, it may well be that you may
dislike a thingwhichAllah has meant for your own good.
If you wish to have a wife in the place of a (divorced) one, do not take
