he unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans
T
would not desist (from unbelief) until the Clear Proof was
given them: an apostle from Allah reading purified pages
containing correct decrees.
Nor did the People of the Book disagree among themselves until the
Clear Proof was given them. Yet they were enjoined to serve Allah
offering him sincere devotion, to attend to their prayers and to pay the
alms-tax. That, surely, is the true faith.
The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall
burn for ever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.
But those that embrace the faith and do good works are the noblest of
all creatures. Allah will reward them with the Gardens of Eden,
gardens watered by running streams, where they shall dwell for ever.
Allah is well pleased with them and they with Him. Thus shall the
God-fearing be rewarded.
