ay: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened to (Allah's
S
revelations) and said: "We have heard a wondrous Quran giving
guidance to the right path. We believed in it and shall
henceforth serve none besides Our Lord. He-exalted be the glory of
our Lord-has taken no wife, nor has He begotten any children. The
ignorant among us have uttered a wanton falsehood against Allah,
although we had supposed no man or jinnee could tell of Him what is
untrue." '
Some men have sought the help of the jinn, but theymisled them into
further error. Like you they thought that Allah could never raise the
dead.
(The jinn also said): ' "We made our way to high heaven and found it
filled with mighty wardens and fiery comets. We sat eavesdropping,
but eavesdroppers find flaming darts in wait for them.We cannot tell if
this bodes evil to those on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide
them.
' "Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow different
ways. We know we cannot escape on earth from Allah, nor can we
elude His grasp by flight. When we heard His guidance we believed in
