is by Allah's leave, so that He might humiliate the evil-doers. As for
those spoils of theirs which Allah has assigned to His Apostle, you
spurred neither horse nor camel against them: but Allah gives His
apostles authority over whomHe will. He has power over all things.
The spoils taken from the town-dwellers and assigned by Allah to
HisApostle belong toAllah, theApostle and his kinsfolk, the orphans,
the poor and the wayfarers, so that they shall not become the property
of the rich among you. Whatever theApostle gives you, accept it; and
whatever he forbids you, forbear from it. Have fear of Allah; He is
stern in retribution.

(Ashare of the spoils shall also fall) to the poor muhajirs who have
been driven from their homes and possessions; who seekAllah's grace
and bounty and support Allah and His Apostle. These are the true
believers.

Those, before them, who had homes in the City and embraced the
Faith before them love those who have sought refuge with them. they
entertain no desire in their hearts for what they are given, but rather
prefer them above themselves, though they are in want. Those that
preserve themselves from their own greed shall surely prosper.
Those, that came after them say: 'Forgive us, our Lord, and forgive
our brothers who embraced the Faith before us. Do not put in our
hearts any malice towards the faithful. Lord, You are Compassionate
andMerciful.’
