has power over all things.
If the unbelievers fought you, they would have been put to flight,
andwould have found none to protect or help them.
Such was the way of Allah in days gone by: and you shall find no
change inAllah's way.
It was He who restrained their hands from you and your hands from
them in the valley of Makkah after He had given you victory over them.
Allahwas watching over all your actions.
Those were the ones who disbelieved and debarred you from the
Sacred Mosque and prevented your offerings from reaching their
destination. But for the fear that you might have trampled under foot
believing men and women unknown to you, and thus incurred
unwitting guilt on their account, (Allah would have commanded you to
fight it out with them; but He ordained it thus) that He might bring
whom He will into His mercy. Had the faithful stood apart from them,
We would have sternly punished the unbelievers among them.
And while bigotry—the bigotry of
Jahiliyya
—was holding its
reign in the hearts of the unbelievers
,
Allah sent down His tranquillity
on His Apostle and the faithful and made the word of piety binding on
them, for they were most worthy and deserving of it. Allah has
knowledge of all things.
Allah has in all truth fulfilled His Apostle's vision. You shall
certainly enter the Sacred Mosque in security if God wills, with hair
cropped or shaven and without fear. He knew what you did not know;
andwhat is more, He granted you a speedy victory.
It is He that has sent forth His Apostle with guidance and the true
