then a clot of blood. He then brings you forth as a child, then (lets you)
reach manhood, and then grow into old age-though some of you die
young so that youmay reach an appointed term, and understand.
It is HeWho ordains life and death. If He decrees a thing. He need
only say: 'Be,' and it is.
Do you not see how those who dispute the revelations of Allah
turn away (from the right path)? Those who have denied the Book and
the message with which We have sent Our apostles shall know: when
with chains and shackles round their necks they shall be dragged
through boilingwater and burnt in the Fire.
It will then be said to them. 'Where are those whom you set up
besidesAllah? '
They reply: 'They have failed us. Indeed what we used to invoke
before is nothing.' Thus God leaves the unbelievers in error (And it
will be said):
'That is because you rejoiced on earth in things other than the
truth, and led a wanton life. Enter the gates of Hell and stay therein for
ever. Evil is the home of the arrogant.'
Therefore have patience: Allah's promise is true. Whether We let
you witness a part of that with whichWe threaten them or cause you to
die before it is fulfilled, toUs they shall all return.
We have sent forth other apostles before you; of some, We have
already told you the story, of others We have told you nothing. Yet it
was not for any apostle to work a miracle except byAllah's leave.And
when Allah's will is done, justice will be done and those who have
