The Apostle says: 'Lord, my people have treated this Quran as a
forsaken thing.' And thus to every prophet We have appointed
adversaries among the wrongdoers: but you need none besides your
Lord to guide and help you.
The unbelievers ask: 'Why was the Quran not revealed to him all at
once? '
(We have revealed it) thus so that We may strengthen your faith. We
have imparted it to you by gradual revelation. No sooner will they
come to you with an argument thanWe shall reveal to you the truth and
properly explain it. Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell
shall have an evil plight and shall go farther away from the (right)
path.
We revealed the Book to Musa and gave him his brother Harun to
help him. ThenWe said; 'Go to the people who have denied Our signs.'
AndWe utterly destroyed them.
As for Nuh's people, We drowned them when they denied their
apostles, andmade of them an example to all men. For the wrongdoers
We have prepared a stern chastisement.
So too Aad and Thamoud and the people of the Rass and many
generations in between; to each of themWe gave examples, and each
of themWe utterly annihilated.
They have doubtless passed by the city which was destroyed by the
