sufficient that your Lord knows and sees His servants' sins.
He that desires this fleeting life We hasten to him in it whatever We
will: (We hasten that) to whomWe please. ThenWe have prepared Hell
for him; he will burn in it despised and helpless.
As for him that desires the life to come and strives for it as he ought
to, being also a believer-those are they whose striving is amply
rewarded byAllah.
On all-on these and those-We bestow the bounty of your Lord, and
the bounty of your Lordwas never withheld (fromany one).
See howWe have exalted some above others. Yet the life to come is
greater by degrees and is more exalted.
Serve no other gods besides Allah, lest you be despised, forsaken.
Your Lord has enjoined you to worship none but Him, and to show
kindness to your parents. If either or both of them attain old age with
you, show them no sign of impatience, nor rebuke them; but speak to
them kind words. Treat them with humility and tenderness and say:
'Lord, bemerciful to them. They nursedme when I was an infant.'
Your Lord best knows what is in your hearts. If you are good, He will
forgive those that turn toHim.
Give to the near of kin their due, and also to the destitute and to the
wayfarers. Do not squander (your substance) wastefully, for the
wasteful are the devils' brothers; and the devil is ever ungrateful to his
Lord. But if you turn away from them to seek your Lord's mercy,
hoping to attain it, then say kindwords to them.
Be neither miserly nor prodigal, for then you should either be
