He created the heavens and the earth with truth. Exalted be He above
what they associate withHim.
He createdman froma little germ: yet he is a professed disputer.
And the cattle He created for you. In them, you have warm clothing
and (other) benefits. And of them you eat. And in them there is beauty
for youwhen you bring themhome andwhen you lead them to pasture.
They carry your burdens to a land, which you could not otherwise
reach except with painful toil.Your Lord is Compassionate, Merciful.
(He has given you) horses, mules, and donkeys, which you may ride
or use as ornaments; andHe creates what you do not know.
It rests withAllah to show the right path. Some turn aside from it, but
hadHe pleased, He would have guided you all aright.
It is He who sends down water from the sky, which provides drink for
you and brings forth the trees on which your cattle feed. And thereby
He brings up corn and olives, dates and grapes and all the fruits. Surely,
in this there is a sign for thinkingmen.
He has made the night and the day, and the sun and the moon,
subservient to you: the stars also serve you by His leave. Surely in this
there are signs for men of understanding.
And what He created for you in the earth is of various hues: surely in
this there is a sign for thoughtful men.
It is He who has subjected to you the ocean, so that you may eat of its
fresh fish and bring up from it ornaments with which to adorn your
persons. And you see the ships ploughing their course through it. (All
this He has created) that you may seek His bounty and render thanks to
